Dr. John Nicoletti

Dr. Nicoletti is a police psychologist, known nationally as an expert in violence prevention. He will present an overview of church, school, and workplace violence. In his presentation he covers: How to identify, recognize, and counter the insider threat; as well as: Identifying the majority of the broadcasting done by insider threats.
Dr. John Nicoletti is a co-founder of Nicoletti-Flater Associates with his spouse Lottie Flater, and has been a police psychologist in the Denver-metro area for more than 25 years. Over the last ten years, the Nicoletti-Flater private practice has expanded into the field of violence and violence prevention. After years of work with national corporations and government agencies, such as the United Postal Service, United Airlines, NASA, Johns Manville, and the U.S. Department of Energy, Dr. Nicoletti has established himself as a national expert in workplace violence. He was an invited speaker at the 10th World Conference in Disaster Management (June 25-28, 2000; Ontario, Canada) and was a keynote speaker at the 2001 National Students Assistance Conference (April 2001, Florida). Dr. Nicoletti was also asked by the Columbine Review Commission to testify numerous times and was cited many times in The Report of Governor Bill Owens.
“The New Life Church Case Study”
John Casey

John Casey will discuss the tragic shooting that took place at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in December of 2007. The incident that killed two people, wounded three others, and terrified thousands in the aftermath. Casey was director of security at New Life at the time, and this incident not only stirred public discussion about violence in churches, but led to Casey founding the National Association of Church Security (NACS). Casey will also talk about the need for every church to have a safety/security plan and team.
Casey served as a State of California Police Officer and as a Federal Officer in Colorado and Florida. He is currently the President of Paragon Training Group and serves as an Air Force Reserve Anti-Terrorism Officer.

Adam is an Attorney with Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons LLP and represents churches and private schools in a variety of corporate, governance, and security matters. He served for over 10 years in the Army National Guard and is a former combat officer and is currently a JAC attorney providing advice to commanders on domestic operations, use of force, intelligence gathering, and other legal matters.
